Blogging Spaces

You can get a free blog in several places. Some easy-to-use ones are:

Interesting Online Spaces

  • The Edublogs Awards site: read down for the 2006 winners and nominees. A good place to find interesting education-related blogs.
  • Technorati.com: a blog search site. use the tags or search bar to look for what interests you. You could surf for days and not be done.

Online Bookstores

  • abe.comabebooks.com is an online marketplace where you can search booksellers from all over; you can find used and new books here
  • powells.com Powells is a wonderful bookstore (six locations in and near Portland, Oregan), and its site has fine features for readers: interviews with authors, book recommendations, a blog, and more. Powells sells used and new books.
  • alibris.com: alibris, like abebooks, is an online marketplace where you can search booksellers from all over; you can find used and new books here
  • amazon.com and bn.com are the big corporate sites; both link to used book sellers as well as new stock

Wonderful Local Bookstores

  • big hat books, in Broad Ripple. “Live large, read,” is their motto. Visit them after a walk on the Monon, and stop into the coffee house next door with your new book!
  • out word bound, downtown. Their website is currently under construction, but you can visit Indianapolis’ only gay and lesbian bookstore on East Street, just off Mass Ave.
